Mission Moment: Brooke Honors Fallen Father in Dance

Brooke has grown in dance the past year as an outlet to express herself following the passing of her father Timothy C., a U.S. Navy Machinest’s Mate Petty Officer Second Class.

In her first solo dance competition of 2023, Brooke honored her father in a unique way that was not a solo dance in her heart. Holding and clutching a folded American flag symbolizing her father, she danced with the flag to the song “Dance With My Father” by Luther Vandross.

“Very emotional, but it’s a beautiful way to honor her dad,” Brooke’s mother wrote.

Brooke pours emotion into each of her solo dances. Last year, her solo dance was about being grateful for her life as she danced to Smile by Katy Perry.

Brooke wants to let the Angels program supporters know that she is very thankful to be given this opportunity to do something she loves, and she is committed to keep working hard on getting better each time.
