Mission Moment: Lilly Gets Back up in the Saddle
Lillyanna, or Lilly for short, was dealt a major blow in life at a very young age. She is now learning to deal with the loss of her father, Army Sergeant Robert S.
Angels of America’s Fallen supports Lillyanna’s journey with horseback riding lessons, and she has loved every minute of it.
“Lilly is still riding horses, and loves it,” said Lillyanna’s mother. “She goes every week and her skills are improving.”
Along the way, Lilly has learned a very valuable life lesson at an early age through horseback riding.
“Lilly fell off a horse recently, a small fall, but got right back on the horse and rode some more,” her mother wrote. “She adopted the motto ‘you’re not a real rider until you’ve fallen off’ and that perked her up. She really loves the horses and has even volunteered at the stables.”
Much like falling off the horse and getting back on the saddle, Lilly is doing that in life following the passing of her father. While not forgetting about her father, she has taken life’s adversities and gotten back up “on the horse” so to speak and is succeeding.
And Angels is there on the ride with her until she turns 19.
