Thanks to you, Through Kyle Clark’s Word of Thanks Campaign
Hi, I’m Joe Lewis, the founder and CEO of Angels of America’s Fallen. We started this mission because when I served in the military, I lost friends in every branch. They all had very young children, and two of them had babies on the way they never even got to meet. I knew because of the sacrifice they made for our country, their children would face their most challenging developmental years without their support and guidance. I knew as a nation, we should stand by their children and pay it forward.
Thanks to you, through Kyle Clark’s Word of Thanks campaign the collective impact of your giving to support them stands at over $26 and half thousand dollars raised throughout this week which included Memorial Day. For families of the Fallen EVERY day is Memorial Day, and the children deserve ongoing support. I’ve been inspired and moved by your donations ranging from $5 to over $1,000, with many choosing to become monthly donors.
At Angels, we honor our fallen by supporting the dreams of their children, And thanks to our community supporters like you, we do that by engaging them in healthy developmental activities in sports, music and the arts to build resilience, reduce their risk factors, help them write their own stories of success, and not be defined by their loss.
There are more than 16,000 children who have lost their parent in military service on active duty since 911. That doesn’t include those lost afterwards to Post traumatic stress, illness from chemical exposure or other service connected causes. AND…We also engage families of first responders who are in harms way right here at home. The need is great.
Through your support, you help us honor the long-term commitment that we make to children of the Fallen…that we’ll walk alongside them from the time of loss, every year, all year, until they reach 19. We do this by engaging them in their chosen activity, through case management, outreach, referrals, and by developing a peer support network.
So many of you have asked how you can get involved. We have numerous options for volunteering as well as options for continued giving, you can find on our website. AND if you want to see the full impact of the Angel Mission first hand, join us on June 11th for our 7th Angel Gala at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs presented by Purpose Planning. You’ll be deeply moved by the positives and possibilities when you see the children you’re helping us serve demonstrate their talent and growth through live performances of their chosen activities. We have a few tickets remaining for in person attendance, OR you can watch the livestream via the link in this email.
Thank you so much for supporting children of our fallen!
