Angels of America’s Fallen, the distinctive non-profit that supports children of fallen military and first responders, has just been announced as a regional finalist (West) in the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s signature ‘True Inspiration Awards.’ Reaching finalist status among a competitive pool of other organizations, an honor in its own right, advances Angels of America’s Fallen (AOAF) to the second phase of selection in which the public votes for a winner via the Chick-fil-A One App.
Clinching the “Regional West Winner” spot would come at a significant time for AOAF because the honor is also accompanied by a $75,000 grant—funds that the organization urgently needs to move children of fallen heroes off its waiting list and into healthy developmental activities.
“It is a remarkable honor to be named a finalist in the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards,” said Joe Lewis, Founder and CEO of Angels of America’s Fallen. “I would like to personally invite people across the country to visit our website, learn about our mission, and help us make a positive impact by voting for us.”
Voting is officially open to the public through the Chick-fil-A One App and will run through October 17th.
Angels of America’s Fallen was nominated for the award by Linda & Randy Watson, the Owners of the Chick-fil-A Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO; the city in which AOAF is headquartered.
“We were absolutely thrilled when we heard that Angels of America’s Fallen was named a finalist,” said Randy Watson. “My wife and I have had the privilege to see firsthand the life changing work that AOAF does and how much it means to these amazing children.”
The Chick-fil-A ‘True Inspiration Awards’ are inspired by the life and generosity of the late founder of Chick-fil-A, S. Truett Cathy.
